A record 14 brave, or were they just crazy(?) swimmers completed the 4th annual crossing between Vashon Island to Point Richmond Beach. 65 people in all, attended the August 6 fundraising swim. A total of 130 food items were contributed, $380 raised for the local FISH food bank. Two "semi purest" swimmers swam the mile despite the fact that they wore no swim fins (noted below), not total purests though because we all wore wet suits didn't we? 13 year Daniel R. completed the mile and is now the youngest swimmer we know of to swim from Vashon Island to Point Richmond Beach! Thank you to all who contributed, donated, boated, paddled, swam, cooked, set up, cleaned up, ate food, showed up, joined in and otherwise made this years swim the best swim ever!
